Description Thomas Hühn 2005-03-25 17:43:14 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from:    Unlisted Binary Package

I'm using the packages from http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/kde-3.4.0/

My Key is on a OpenPGP smartcard (http://www.g10code.de/p-card.html)

If I try to encrypt/sign a mail using this key, KMail hangs and never returns. In the background I see this process:

gpg --no-sk-comment --status-fd 41 --no-tty --charset utf8
--enable-progress-filter --command-fd 43 --sign --detach --armor -u 0F2B3C20E772CFE9

I'm never presented the questions about the card's PIN. Encrypting using gpg on command line works.

So I guess you are not prepared to get something other than a question for a passphrase from gpg?

For reference, the output of gpg:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
huehnts@blackbox:~$ gpg -u 0F2B3C20E772CFE9 --detach-sign kurz/kmail-gpg
gpg: detected reader `Omnikey CardMan 2020 00 00'
gpg: signatures created so far: 1
gpg: DBG: asking for PIN 'PIN [sigs done: 1]'
PIN [sigs done: 1]
Enter PIN:
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please present the question for the PIN to the user; this might also affect other KDE apps like Kopete and stuff. I'll try that later.

Please contact gpa-dev@gnupg.org. The OpenPGP support was developed in collaboration with g10code so they will most likely be able to help you.

I've sent some debugging logs to wk and will update this bug if he responds.
Comment 3 Martin Koller 2009-09-09 22:57:46 UTC
was there ever any response ?
If so please add it here, or if you still see the problem with current KDE 4.3.1, please reopen.
