There is a javascript, that compute number of simbols in sms in site http://mts.ru/sms. In konqueror in KDE3.3.1 and MS IE all right, but in KDE3.4 every button push cause long delay.

Cannot reproduce (debian 3.4.0pre packages, 450Mhz processor).

I can confirm it too for HEAD, it's not the Javascript part, but the spellcheck extension that makes a lot of cpu load.
