Hello,

to reproduce:

Use konq (or kate or ...) to save a file on a SMB share, by typing in smb://host/share/path/file.foo.

close konq (or kate ...)
wait a bit (maybe a couple minutes, maybe longer)

reopen konq + repeat

Before the file/save dialog appears, you get a warning window saying "The file or folder does not exist.". Then, in the file/save dialog, it shows the root directory, not the last visited (smb://) directory.

Re-entering the smb:// string works fine, however. It seem that when the connection is lost or closed due to timeouts, konq cannot re-establish the connection. I don't know if the same goes for the other remote file protocols.

This doesn't appear in 4.2.1

KDE 3 is no longer maintained. See comment #1 about KDE 4.
