Description Jan Ekholm 2005-03-21 10:43:41 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.4.0, Debian Package 4:3.4.0-0pre2 (3.1))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-2

When I use Kontact I want to add a few friends to the address book from within the Mail view. I activate the Mail view, find a mail from the person I want to add and view the mail. Then, in the "From" line of the mail i right-click and get a context menu that allows me to reply, forward etc and also "Add to Address Book". Choosing "Add to Address Book" the action seems to go ok, no error is shown. If I try to add the same address a second time I get a complaint that the address is already in the address book. So far so good.

However, when I activate the "Contacts" view to fill in some more information for my newly added contact it is not shown there. The view contains no added contact. If I add more contacts from the Mail view they won't show up either. I need to restart Kontact for the new contacts to show up. Seems to me that the "Contacts" view just needs a refresh when new contacts get added, as the data clearly is in the address book.

Oh yeah, the Contacts view has a menu option "View->Refresh view", but it doesn't show the new contacts either, I need to do a complete restart of Kontact.
