Except when you store your files in your mailbox.
It is a good idea -- when composing mail you have such options for every attachment -- compress, encrypt, sign. Another one "store" would be great. Plus global option "store/do not store by default". For example, I would choose do not store by default, and each time I add attachment, this option "store" would be deselected. Once the mail would be sent, attachment would be erased. Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
