Description joebells 2005-03-08 15:12:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

Is there a way to have the mac-os style menubar display the window title like it does on mac os? Like if you are in konqueror then it would say konqueror in the very top left hand corner.

not currently. on MacOS X this is actually another menu, and it would be a hack to add such a menu, but it would be possible. what would go in there, however, i'm not sure. as we don't have the infrastructure for it, the best we could do would probably be to make it a list of open windows or some such.

I was using baghira which has a custom menu applet which takes the menu bar and puts it into kicker with the name of the window displayed. So I thought maybe it could easily be done and then I wouldn't have to use a special applet.

Thanks for the fast reply.

ah.. you just want the application name there.. yes, that would be easy. i thought you wanted an actual menu ala MacOS X =)

i just emailed the author of baghira to see if we can work together on these things.

That was me that closed it I thought it wasn't easily done so I closed it(first time using a bugtracker).

Yeah thats what I meant just have the app name displayed there. It's alot nicer to have the name of the app right next to the options plus it is more mac like then too :)

Thanks again for looking into this for me
