Description Tristan Miller 2005-03-05 21:44:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.92)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

KNode allows articles to be dragged from newsgroup folders or from other local folders into the Outbox folder. Except in the case where the message originated from the Drafts folder, this operation is nonsensical, and triggers a "Article has already been sent" error in KNode when "Send pending messages" is executed. (See attachment.)

It would be an improvement if the user was warned immediately that dragging sent messages to the Outbox folder is not allowed, via the "illegal destination" mouse pointer (or whatever it's called -- it's the same mouse pointer used when trying to drag a message into a read-only newsgroup folder). Having an error dialog pop up much later, during a seemingly unrelated command, creates too great a distance between cause and effect.

I miss ability to copy the messages between local folders. I sometimes send the same posting (i.e. announcement) more than once, and I'd like to re-use previous post. However I can drag it from Sent to Outbox I wish "Copy message | Move message | Cancel" popup appears like in konqueror, as I'd like to keep track when exactly I've sent previous copy of the post. Recently knode moves the message which nicely destroys kinda-of "posting history".

Sorry. My fault. Ought to be a new RFE.

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug.
