(selecting most of a random line on a random click that you meant to remove the selection is too easy).

instead it should use the manhatten distance and only select when the mouse has moved enough. if i had a working build i'd send u the patch. sorry :/

open konsole.
ls -laR /
click a point
-> point till end of line is selected
its difficult to remove selection therefore

I do not think this problem exists in KDE4 konsole, at least in recent version.

It does. You have to slightly move the mouse while clicking, this is actually easier to reproduce with a stylus.
