I'm experiencing the same with a laptop touchpad suited for horizontal scrolling: I can no longer scroll horizontally in KHTML by using the touchpad or the Alt-key, but in all other applications there is no problem. The Problem started with KDE 3.4RC1. (I am also using the unofficial rpms provided by Suse.) anyone not using SuSE rpms can reproduce this? it works fine for me, whether using real horizontal wheel or alt+ vertical wheel. I tried with both a vanilla qt-copy and qt-copy+patches, same result. Doesn’t work for me either. Scrolling horizontally with the laptop touchpad causes vertical scrolling in Konqueror, whereas in all other KDE applications it works fine. Hope this bug will be fixed soon, because it really makes working with Konqueror harder. Well, neither under Kubuntu nor under Gentoo this problem occurs. Seems to be a problem of SuSE’s smooth scrolling patch. (That patch is by SuSE, isn’t it?) Is this still a problem? For me it is running suse10. The kdelibs3 rpm changelog has as comment * Mon Aug 15 2005 - fix horizontal scrolling in KHTML broken by the smooth scrolling patch (#76565). So packages created after the 15th should be working...., mine isn't :( that's a SuSE-specific problem anyway, so let's close. There's an issue on my Kubuntu/KDE3.5.2 system, too. ALT+left/right to scroll horizontally works until the the view has a page navigation history. For example, if I view one page in Akregator and click on a link to see another, and I want to scroll right then left on that page: the Alt+left action takes me back in the history, instead of back in a leftward direction. |
