Go to home/<username> in sidebar. While directory is selected, delete icon does not "light up". Also cut and copy do not light up. Click on right pane on the same folder. Icon lights up. When click on folder in right panel, folder on the left should be deselected, or outlined. So you know which folder are deleting/copying/cutting.
