STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create network share on windows pc. 2. Set the permissions so 1 local user without a password can access it. 3. Try to connect to it via knetattach/KDE Network Wizard 3. When you press "OK" in the authentication dialog will just keep re-appearing with no share being attached. OBSERVED RESULT Authentication dialog will just keep re-appearing with no share being attached. EXPECTED RESULT Expected the share to be attached and I expected to see it and be able to read and write to it. There is a mountain of authentication related settings in gpedit.msc and, I guess, secpol.msc too. Windows does rather dislike empty passwords for remote authentication, for obvious reasons.
