When using face recognition, digikam will sometimes place some unconfirmed faces within a Person's face tag, so you can confirm or deny it. However, the difference between confirmed and unconfirmed faces within that person is barely visible: only by hovering the mouse over a face it will reveal a dialog to confirm the face. Otherwise, they look identical. They could have some kind of color frame around it or something. In addition to that, it would be useful to have some indicator in the People list that new faces have been found for that person. Recognition work well using Deep Learning and give 97% of true positive results. Look well my comments on the screenshot: The unconfirmed face has a green frame around thumbnail. I still think the second proposal in the original post could be a big improvement too: An indicator next to or on the person's name indicating that me faces for that person are suggested/found and should be reviewed.
