<thetext>I am running KDE Neon with latest updates (Plasma 5.8.3 at this moment). Every time I start a new session, when I return to the initial one (ctrl+alt+F7) I get black screen saying that screen locker is broken and I should go to virtual terminal and run "loginctl unlock-sessions".

Here is my log:

<thetext>I'm having this problem as well with Kubuntu, Neon and OpenSUSE.
I have 2 sessions running with different user accounts, and this problem occurs most of the time I switch between them.

Searching online some reported that this might be a problem with:
- a full root partition - tested and not the case
- a full tmp partition - tested and not the case
- a root btrfs partition reporting wrong space info - tested with both btrfs and ext4 and not the case

I would appreciate it if you could confirm this issue and try to resolve it.

A workaround is to disable the screen locker but I can only do that at home not in an office environment.

Thanks.</thetext>

<thetext>I am not shure if it is the same problem, since it does not involve a new session (I think).

But lately my lock screen is broken too. The normal log in works fine. But once I lock my system or let it lock due to inactivity, I have to reboot the system.

It also tells me to put in "loginctl unlock-sessions", which does not help.
Currently I am on KDE 5.10, that is running on neon stable dev.

I don't know since when I have this problem, but it can't be that long. Usually I won't lock my system at home, since I don't need to.</thetext>

> Maximilian, kscreenlocker 5.10.0 regression is tracked at bug 380491. Please
> check if it is fixed for you with 5.10.1, open a new ticket, if you still
> see an issue.

I'm having the same problem as Maximiliam. It is not related to bug #380941 because there is no any password request, just a black screen with the folowing message "The screen locker is broken and unlocking is not possible anymore". The screenlocker background image is showed three times before the message.</thetext>
