Also the shortcut Ctrl+D, Ctrl+A shown in the menu brought up by right click on the desktop does not work for me. I have exactly the same symptoms as Gandalf described, however I already have the recently fixed version of khotkeys (in Archlinux). October (also kactivities 5.3) So maybe, this is actually a bug in kactivities ?
