It works perfectly. Today I tried to do it while the "Send an attachment" dialog was open. Still dragging the file to attach, I pressed the escape key to close the dialog in order to drop the file directly into the "new email" window. After pressing Escape (which closed the dialog), Dolphin crashed, but not Kmail.
