For the first one you have to do some clicks anyway, but for the second one there is a shiny search field which makes it easy to find the plasmoid quickly - or better: it would, because you first have to click in it in order to give it focus. For me this is so counter-intuitive, that I always start typing right away just to see that nothing happens. With some "oh not again"-feeling I have to go back to the mouse, click, and type everything again.
