<thetext>Hi
The phonon backend is VLC. I switched to VLC from Xine to utilize digital
sound playback rather than analog.
I have not setup for Gstreamer. Backend is not listed in Phonon.

Have a nice day, Thanks ;Trisha Lyn

    <thetext>Hi Dario
I did not work with Xine. It had a lack of features (no digital output)
compared to VLC.
I will try to check this out today as soon as I can get to it.
If I can get this feature to work, I get alot more interest from those I
demo to. It's very impressive to preview and play back in Dolphin. All of a
sudden Linux is something to see.
Make any recommendations, I will do my best to follow thru 4 U.
LINUX EXPERIENCE LEVEL ABOUT 18 MONTHS.
PC EXPERIENCE LEVEL 9 YEARS
Thanks again ;Trisha

    <thetext>Hi Dario
Phonon with Xine backend;
WMV works fine
FLV no sound
MP4 No sound
Unfortunately still crashes with Xine. Dolphin Doesnt freeze with either
backend, just poof and is gone. reopens fine
NOTE - With VLC backend, Sometimes requires activation of WMV file to get
sound then FLV, and MP4 will have sound
Thanks again, I'm out for the day, but will watch the inbox
