I received a lot of feedback from my network that KDE desktop is difficult to work with, as they do not find any icons, taskbars (like they have in traditional user interfaces). The plasma user interface, options & featurees of it are good to look, not for using. How do you rate the ease of understanding linux desktop? On a scale of 5, it was rated between 2 and 3. Where 5 is the best, 0 is the least. 2. Could you find all the installed programs on your computer easily? On a scale of 5, it was rated between 1 and 2. 3. Could you find all the required software installers without strain. Please include your ease of installation experience too. On a scale of 5, it was rater between 3 and 4. 4. How do you feel is the look & feel of the KDE desktop? On a scale of 5, it was rated between 4 and 5. 5. Which features do you like the most in the UI? Most admired features are the graceful & sober animations. Cubical desktop effects. 6. Which features do you feel are hard to understand. The basic start menu, and the plasma on the desktop. Many couldn't understand what a plasma is, and how to work with it. They also said, it could be great if we have some start menu kind of thing, instead of right-clicking on the desktop. 7. Overall rating? On a scale of 5, KDE 4.5 has been rated as 3. All the users are novice KDE users. They used linux with command-line/gnome user interfaces. Hence, you can take this survey results indicating the ease-of-use & understandability of KDE.
