It freezes for a while, and does not update correctly. (maybe there is an app taking too much CPU) You can try disabling some plugins from KRunner (the toolbox icon in the krunner dialog) or leave only the "Applications" and "Command line". I can consistently trigger it if i type and delete giberish (preferably starting with a program name such as knetworkmanager) for long enough. I was told that the program is less pronounced after longer uptimes but haven't tested that myself.
