I am a student, and if I am working on a smallish project or Java project, Kate is my editor of choice. It rocks! (For bigger projects I use KDevelop, which is basically kate on steroids, so I guess I'll thank you for that too...) Anyway, one thing I'd really like to see is a word count plugin for kate. I sometimes have to do a research report in latex (Kile) and need a word count tool for that... Thanks for your efforts and keep up the good work!
