I know I'm not alone in being annoyed at having the power go out and being sent back to a week old session. The state you leave your computer in when you walk away is generally a state you intend to return to, and thus is a good time to save. It would save the frustration of going to sleep and waking up to find your computer has restarted and your session lost.
