The main taskbar is on the bottom, auto-hide. On Screen/Desktop 2 there is a taskbar on the right side of the screen, auto-hide too. Now when logging in to KDE the icons on BOTH screens are moved down (to don't get hidden by the top taskbar on screen 1??). This happens all time loging in. It has nothing to do with the xinerama configuration. It's just the taskbar at the top, that makes this happen. Well, with 3.5.6 and 3.5.7 on Kubuntu (AMD64) it's back. I can place icons at the top of the screen, just under my child panel (for MacOS-style menus) and when I log in they are no longer near the top, but quite a bit down. KDE 3.5.7, qt 3.3.8, Gentoo Linux Main panel on the top, secondary panel on the bottom; top panel is still, bottom panel autohide. Also, I use "menu bar at the top like in MacOS", and was thinking that this could be contributing to the issue. Since KDE 4 doesn't support that (yet) maybe it won't be an issue in KDE 4.
