In KDE 3.4.0 (Fedora Core 3) this eats 100% CPU and is incredibly slow. It also interferes with the drop-down history list displayed for editbox fields which makes them essentially useless. I have a 1G Athlon and in a memobox I can easily type ahead and wait 5-10 seconds or more for the text to display. But: when I try to input something into ebay it delays just for a second or so, not for several seconds.
