Version:           2.0 (using KDE 3.3.2,  (3.1))
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.4.27-1-386

I can sue my machine for basic operations without the source code being loaded but it will not perform most tasks and 
I am unable to configure changes without the source code being correct.

Your bug report makes no sense and KDE 3.3.2 is too old.
