Version: 3.3.2 (using KDE 3.3.2, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker) Compiler: gcc version 3.4.1 (Mandrakelinux 10.1 3.4.1-4mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8.1-10mdksmp My text size is minimized (using the "decrease font size buttons") but on the page http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?action=crf&category=main&cid=333341&id=26973 the ad in the top right of the page covers part of the html text.
I can't see anything wrong. At first, there were no ads. Then I reloaded and saw them. Apparently, the ad server is having problems. The rendering is exactly like Firefox's. When I say exactly, I mean *exactly*.
On a second attempt, on a non-maximised window, I do see the problem. HEAD 20050206.
I checked with firefox just now and it does not have the problem even if I increase font size. So its a konqueror problem for sure.
The website actually is not reachable. Please could you add a testcase? Thanks
To comment 4, this bug is 3+ years old now so the link can go invalid. Try http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/categorySpecial.do?catOid=-12961&N=20012961&c=1 which shows (in konqueror/kde-3.5.9) texts overlapping/covering each other so badly that they are unreadable.
@ndeb: exactly where in http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/categorySpecial.do?catOid=-12961&N=20012961&c=1 should I see this problem? Could you attach a screenshot please? Konqueror 3.5.9 render the page like Firefox 2 Instead Konqueror 4.1 (trunk r802881) doesn't render the "shopping chart" and "your account" boxes on the right sidebar, but this seems to be a different question.
Created attachment 24677 [details] konqueror/kde-3.5.9 with overlapping text The texts "search" and "shop by brand" are overlapping.
To comment 6, firefox-2.0 does not cause overlapping texts as in the image in comment 7.
If you use a smaller font the problem is solved. Firefox behave just like Konqueror: start firefox and enlarge the font ( CTRL + ), you will have the same problem. With IE6 the problem doesn't exist because the font size is given in "px" and IE6 doesn't allow to enlarge/shrink the font in such case. With Opera instead you can zoom the whole webpage, images included, so the bug cannot exist. This is a WONTFIX, but I wait a feedback from konqueror developers.
Message from the Bugsquad and Konqueror teams: This bug is closed as outdated, as we do not have the manpower to maintain the KDE3 version anymore. If you still can reproduce this issue with Konqueror 4.8.4 or later, please open a new report. Thank you for your understanding.
