Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc-3.2.2 OS: Linux The web site appears to dynamically generate a infinite recursion of sub frames. This causes konqueror to recurse indefinitely, and consume ever more memory. Expected behaviour is probably to stop after some set limit, say 10 recursions. Mozilla stops after a few recursions.
I can confirm the different behaviours between firefox and konqueror 3.5.2
My konq 3.5.2 also eats up memory and cpu when directed to the above page. I guess this is enough evidence to confirm this bug.
Konqueror 3.5.8 is still eating memory on the above mentioned site, but doesn't show it. Also encountered another site Konqueror is endlessly trying to load: http://www.abgeordnetenwatch.de/ulrich_kelber-650-5786--f78841.html
See http://www.merchantdiservice.com/ The web page includes itself in an iframe. Konqueror (3.5.4-15.el5.centos) starts eating memory until the system becomes unstable. A backtrace with gdb shows: (gdb) bt #0 0x025b5ee5 in QGDict::clear () from /usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib/libqt-mt.so.3 #1 0x02a3339f in CollectionCache::~CollectionCache$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #2 0x029f46ec in DOM::XMLAttributeReader::~XMLAttributeReader$base () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #3 0x02a1ad99 in DOM::checkChild () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #4 0x02987929 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #5 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #6 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #7 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #8 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #9 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #10 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #11 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #12 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #13 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #14 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #15 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #16 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #17 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #18 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #19 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #20 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #21 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #22 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #23 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #24 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #25 0x029b5db1 in KHTMLPart::~KHTMLPart$delete () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 #26 0x02987a73 in KHTMLPart::clear () from /usr/lib/libkhtml.so.4 etc. It doesn't end.
Bug confirmed on trunk (r802881)
Infinite loop also on openfontlibrary.org
I can reproduce this still in 4.5.4 (with the link given in the title of this bug report). Updating version.
KDE 4.7.4 on Debian testing. I can't reproduce this at http://www.abgeordnetenwatch.de/ulrich_kelber-650-5786--f78841.html the other link is broken.
