Version: 3.3.1 (using KDE 3.3.1, (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-3) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.9-1-686 Konqueror interrupts image thumbnail creation process, if users clicks/open a file before all thumbnails are created. How to re-produce: 1) Make sure icon view and thumbnails for images are enabled 2) Open a folder containing lot of (big) images, i.e photos from digicam 3) Open any image file with separate viewer or in new window _before_ all thumbnails are created (that's why you need to have lot of files and/or slow machine) 4) Opening a file causes thumbnail process to stop - this is a bug Dirty fix: Press F5 / reload.
Confirmed with current 3.4 CVS. It only happens when the action on double-click (open) opens in a separate window. If I select in RMB "open with->kuickshow", then the thumbnail generation continues.
actually turns out there is slightly older bug 95383 that deals with the same thing :)

Look like this bug is fixed.
still reproducible in 3.5.4. doubleclicking on a file stops thumbnail creation.
Confirmed in 3.5.9, works fine in Dolphin (Konq 4 has no support for previews?).
All reports about file management mode reported against KDE 3 (konqueror) has been closed: konqueror in KDE 3 is no more developed and mantained. All bugs and wishes which could be interesting for Dolphin in KDE 4 (the new KDE file manager) has been collected into a specific list. Please try the new file manager before request new features and report bugs. Before submitting new reports check carefully the already opened KDE/Dolphin reports in order not to add duplicates. Many thanks. P.S: the thumbnail generation has been rewritten on KDE4.
