Description tor 2004-12-14 15:03:29 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs

It would be great if we could have a "view source" action, to see the source of the feed. I'm thinking primarily to see the source of the whole feed, but maybe also to view the source of just one entry would be useful.

We could add "View source" to view the RSS source of a feed. But that would download the current source and show only the items which are currently in the file. For older articles, we could only show the source in the archive, but that would not make much sense, since the archive format is not the original source. So what exactly should be displayed in your opinion?

I don't see much value in this.
Comment 3 Teemu Rytilahti 2004-12-14 20:32:20 UTC
Neither do I. If someone wants to take a look at the source, it can be done many other ways.

As a developer I sometimes wish I had a "View Source" action, because copying the URL somewhere and downloading it manually takes soooo much time ;-)
But for the normal user the use of such an action is not worth the UI clutter imo.

agreed.

OK, I sort of agree. I just think it would be nice sometimes.
