Description Dik Takken 2004-11-21 01:05:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

Deleting e-mails from Hotmail's 'unwanted mail' folder does not do anything at all. It works fine in Firefox.

This worked just recently in KDE 3.3.0, so either Hotmail staff changed something or this is a regression.

test case?
Comment 2 Simon Roby 2004-12-14 04:09:17 UTC
It's a recent change to the Hotmail interface: when selecting "Empty" in the Junk Mail Folder, it now pops up a Javascript-managed window instead of a plain "Javascript alert" message.

Looks like this (lynx-style mock-up):
-------------------------
Are you sure that you want to empty your junk mail folder?

[ ] Report all selected messages as Junk E-Mail.

Note: Messages you report as junk e-mail are used by Microsoft to improve the Junk E-Mail Filter. Microsoft may also provide the reported messages to third parties to help combat junk e-mail.

   [OK] [Cancel]
-------------------------

Clicking the OK button closes the window, but does not actually carry on the action. This is definitely a khtml issue since Firefox works fine.

(still happens in 3.3.2, BTW)

I am using 3.4 beta1 and this is still an issue. You click ok in the message box described above and then nothing happens.
Comment 4 Simon Roby 2005-02-12 03:01:17 UTC
...and beta2 too.
Comment 5 Pierre Habouzit 2005-05-26 15:02:46 UTC
Still happens with kde 3.4.1
Comment 6 Ezequiel R. Aguerre 2005-07-26 18:12:14 UTC
It's very annoying, I have to use Firefox when I want to clean my account.
Comment 7 Mario A. Vazquez 2005-08-11 15:59:32 UTC
workaround for KDE 3.4.x, choose Safari Browser on Mac OS as the browser identification.

This bug looks like bug #104394. There I explain it better.

Confirmed on trunk r794120. This relates to the js function window.showModalDialog which is non-standard. So far only MSIE (>4.0) and FF3 support it.
FF's spec: http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/DOM:window.showModalDialog
