Description theosib 2004-11-14 20:39:33 UTC
Version: 3.3.1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.3.4
OS: Linux

On session restore, all konqueror windows and tabs error out. They display an error similar to this:

An error occurred while loading http://lists.duskglow.com/open-graphics/2004-November/date.html#239:

The process for the http://lists.duskglow.com protocol died unexpectedly.

This happens every time I restore a session. Clicking "reload" for each tab successfully reloads the pages (You need a "reload all" option!!!).

I started seeing this recently also. Just upgraded to 3.5.2 and it is still happening.

During session restore, not every tab, but maybe 10 out of 20 will show the "protocol died unexpectedly" error. Clicking reload on those tabs after the session has finished loading will open the pages (or folders or local documents) normally.

Just a note to the reporter, shift+f5 will reload all.

do you still experience this with kde 3.5.4?
Comment 4 missive 2006-09-12 22:35:28 UTC
Still present on 3.5.4.

I tried getting rid of my old session and starting completely fresh, but I am still having trouble.

This session has 6 konqueror windows open. Three of those windows have multiple tabs open. On 2 of those multi-tab windows, the first tab showed the error.

thx. multiple users experiencing the problem -> confirming.

I can't reproduce it on KDE 4.0.4.
I have Flash Player 10 installed.

@Szőts Ákos: this is not a flash related bug... why you mention it?

Anyway. I've tried to save and restore a profile with multiple tabs (with the two links on the report). It seems all ok.

Tested on 3.5.9 and 4 (trunk, r809608).
