Version: 0.9.0 (using KDE 3.3.1, (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-2) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-1-686 Hi, when I speak with a friend using Jabber, she receives a lot of blank lines, also when I'm not writing. Both me and her use Kopete.
Please attach a debug log from the console (with full debugging enabled) and a description of when exactly the blank lines appear. My assumption is that your friend's client doesn't understand typing notifications.

No response for about 20 days, and our assumption is that the person on the other end is using an older ( less than version 0.9.0 ) version of kopete. If you can provide more information, please reopen the bug and we'll look into fixing it. :)
I'm really sorry for taking so much time, but as I need the other person connected and with time enough to test it, its hard to find the proper moment. If I get the required info, I'll reopen. Thanks.
I use Kopete 0.12.3 on KDE 3.5.5 in Debian Sid, and my gaim-using friends complain that they are getting blank lines from me on Google Talk, which uses the Jabber protocol. This has only begun to happen lately, say in the last couple of weeks or so. They are using gaim1.5.0 on Linux. The problem does not occur for recipients using gaim2.0.0beta3.1 on windows, or for users of the GMail web interface for Google Talk. Best regards, Torquil M. Sørensen
I'm having a similar problem with my gaim-using friends. They are using gaim2.0.0beta4 for linux, and getting multiple lines when I send a message. I recently started when I updated to the latest version of kopete. I am using kopete 0.12.3 on KDe 3.5.5. According the my friend he receives a message with 2 blank lines then my message and 3 blank lines, as though there may be trapped whitespace in the message. His client sends xhtml-im as one of it's capabilities, and I'm guessing kopete may be embedding extra whitespace in the message, and for what ever reason, gaim isn't striping it right. Bjorn Gott
I'm having the same problem with gaim 2.0.0beta4 and kopete 0.12.3 on KDE 3.5.5. some detailed messages i've found... http://forum.psi-im.org/thread/4059 Is there any posibility to override a cappability sended by the other end (gaim in this case)?
i'm having a similar problem with someone using adium... i'm using kopete 0.12.3 on kde 3.5.5 on freebsd.
