Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3) Installed from: Mandrake RPMs Compiler: N/A N/A OS: Linux Hi, Obviously I am a KDE user and fan and I've been working on a sound theme that has been very well received at the kde-look.org and have been wondering whether you guys would be interested in incorporating it into the KDE desktop? The theme can be previewed and downloaded from here and is available both in .ogg and .wav format: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=12584 If you have any questions and/or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you very much! Best wishes, Ico

As we just changed sound theme for KDE 3.3, I'm not really into this now. And as we don't really have a way to switch sound themes in KDE yet, it also doesn't really make sense to offer it via kdeartwork (also due the size of sound themes this makes it a problem anyway). But for people looking for a change, kde-look.org is there and used a lot. I'll keep it in mind (and I'll ask my girl friend as the first commentor on kde-look did :) Greetings, Stephan
Thank you very much for your quick response. As a matter of fact there are plenty more comments but apparently kde-look.org archives them. Nonetheless, thank you very much for your help in this matter. Would you perhaps consider using my theme for the 4.0 release? By that time I should be able to furnish new sounds for most of the KDE-control-center-aware applications and/or games. sure, but this will take quite some time :)
Very nice indeed. It is amazing how much support we have on the sound stuff! We should definitly add the possiblity to include sound themes although we probably cannot include more than the default in the base system. I think that lots of people would love to download other themes, or install another rpm with them. One comment on the sound themselves...the time to start/stop kde varies dependong on several factors so I suggest making the "climax" of the sound nearer to the beginning, allowing for the sound to be cut off when kde has started/stopped.

well since my instance of arts doesnt play ogg files for some unknown reasons when everything else having no problem with them, i decided to convert them back to wav, and well that was the easier part - i really appriciate to enhancing current inssuficient sound settings in way of adding theme support in it or alternatively in theme manager or both.
We don't ship 3rd-party themes anymore, and I don't believe we even still have support for sound themes. :/
