Description Paul Fedorenko 2004-10-25 21:57:55 UTC
Version: 0.6.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux

Under the camera tab in the Configure dialog box, whenever I click on either the "Add..." or "Auto-Detect" buttons, the program crashes, and displays the following error:

"The application Digikam (digikam) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).

Here's the backtrace from the error dialog:

Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
[New Thread -151150464 (LWP 7619)]
[KCrash handler]
#4 0x074044b3 in ?? () from /usr/lib/libgphoto2.so.2
#5 0x00000000 in ?? ()

The camera I've got connected is a Sony Cybershot DSC-F717, on a USB 2 port. I'm running KDE 3.3.1 on Linux kernel 2.6.8-1.521.

Hope this helps...

possibly a crash within libgphoto2, and the backtrace doesn't give any info. can you try with a newer libgphoto2 (and if possible, the recently released digikam-0.7-beta1) and see if you can reproduce the problem
Comment 2 Renchi Raju 2004-11-17 06:57:08 UTC
wake up. wake up :)
if you don't report back the results with recently released 0.7, this bug will be closed
Comment 3 Renchi Raju 2004-11-21 03:00:58 UTC
lack of feedback from reporter. closing bug

I get the same problem when I click on the Add button with digikam 0.7.1 cvs after beta2 and digikamimageplugins 0.7.1 cvs after beta2. I get this trace :

Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".

I've updated from the cvs today and I get the same problem.
Comment 6 Renchi Raju 2004-12-28 19:59:59 UTC
sounds like a crash within libgphoto2. try from the commandline:
gphoto2 --list-cameras
gphoto2 --auto-detect

and see what you get
