Version: 3.3 (using KDE 3.3.0, (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (Debian 1:3.3.4-12) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8.1-kanotix-5 The spell check in konqueror has problems to handle German Umlaute. With the autospellcheck it recognises them correctly. But if I choose the manualy spell check word this Umlaute arent recognised. The Umlaut isn't seen as part of the word, it is split up into two part, which quite obvious do not exist and therefore are presented as wrong.
Check your LC_CTYPE first. Set >> LC_CTYPE="de_DE.UTF-8" << and there is no problem with the Umlaute and the manual spellcheck.
Unfortunatly my computer is in repairs, I will check it, when I have it back.
i cannot trigger the described bug. my LC_ALL is "de_DE.utf8" and spellchecking works correctly in textareas.
Works for Florian [My German ain't so good ;)]
The bug is still valid for me (3.5.5., SuSE10.0, official packages, x86_64) I set LC_CTYPE, although SuSE doesnot need this as they set LANG which should give the default for LC_* I attach a screenshot to be sure.
