Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0) Installed from: Compiled From Sources When using Konqueror to browse local files, I often begin typing the URL into the location bar with, e.g. "~/". Konqueror allows me to do tab completion, which is good. However, when I try to tab-complete an incorrect URL (i.e. a file which does not exist), then Konqueror adds "http://" to the beginning of the URL, meaning I have to start over :( The expected behaviour is that pressing tab simply does nothing if the tab completion cannot work, because '~' is not a valid hostname, but is used to signify home directory.
confirming for 3.5.2
Confirming for kde4.
Confirmed in 4.2 svn trunk 838250
SVN commit 1186317 by dfaure: '~' also denotes the beginning of a local path, like '/', so don't prepend http://www. in the completion offers. FIXED-IN: 4.5.3 BUG: 90005 M +2 -2 konqmainwindow.cpp WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=1186317
