Description Justin Taylor 2004-08-28 02:12:05 UTC
Version: 0.9.0 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

I upgraded to KDE 3.3.0 and kopete 0.9.0. kopete no longer functions with jabber protocol. My contacts are still shown but my jabber account is not shown. When I try to add it, jabber protocol is not an option.

It is my understanding that jabber is still supported.

You need to have libidn installed at compile time. My guess is that you didn't. Apologies if you did.
Comment 2 Olivier Goffart 2004-08-28 07:56:10 UTC
It's a packaging bug.

If you uses RPM provided by SUSE, you should report the bug there.
Comment 3 Justin Taylor 2004-08-28 13:43:24 UTC
I downloaded the SuSE RPM provided by kde.org. Shouldn't that bug be reported to KDE not SuSE?
Comment 4 Matt Rogers 2004-08-28 16:25:03 UTC
no, we don't make the packages. we just link to them.
Comment 5 Jorge Adriano 2004-10-13 23:03:15 UTC
Same problem in KDE 3.3.1 (SUSE 8.2 RPMs).

Added that just for "documentation" purposes.
