When ran by itself, akregator loads up new articles from feeds. When ran inside kontact, it does not.

Do you have fetch upon start on or off?

I have "Fetch Upon Start" set on. So starting akregator standalone loads any new articles, but when used inside Kontact, it never tries to load new articles.

I have updated from CVS today, and running akregator inside Kontact (KDE 3.2.3) it still does not retreive new articles on startup.

Same for me.  On SuSE with kde-3.3 and akregrator built from source.
