Description DC 2004-07-09 22:23:09 UTC
Version: akregator-1.0-0.beta4 (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

The fonts in the internal browser (Konqueror?) are too small -- maybe 6 to 8pt -- making pages barely readable on my 1280x1024 display. Setting font prefs in Konq seem to have no effect.

[1] Please make all fonts, especially browser, user configurable.

[2] Also, an option to automatically save settings on exit, without being prompted, would be wonderful.

Great work!

Font sizes are different between akregator and Konqueror

On the left is the text displayed on the internal browser;
On the right the same text displayed on Konqueror.
There is a clear difference.
Normally the internal browser should use Konqueror's settings!

It would be nice if for the internal browser all konqueror-settings would be applied...

Nearly the same problem here, only the fonts in the embedded browser are about 1.5 times +larger+ than in konqueror and the system.

CVS commit by osterfeld:

Use settings from Konqueror in the page viewers.
Still TODO: Make this configurable and add an "Appearance" page to the configuration dialog.

added appearance settings (font sizes & faces). CVS users please test.
Comment 8 Frank Osterfeld 2005-01-21 13:09:30 UTC
Ok, it seems to work now. Please file bug reports when font settings aren't applied as expected.
Comment 9 Michael Olbrich 2005-01-21 20:26:10 UTC
Hmmm, it seems it only works for the "articles" tab. Other tabs (the ones I get when clicking links (e.g. with the KDE Dot News feed) use the default
fonts.

Why not use the konqueror settings by default anyway? Though thats probably a
khtml issue, right?
Comment 10 Frank Osterfeld 2005-01-21 21:56:15 UTC
Does the internal browser use the font settings after restarting akregator?
I haven't found out yet how to apply the changes to the widgets immediately.

I implemented "Use Konqueror settings" first.
But, the problem with using the konq settings is, to inform akregator of Konqueror config changes. You have to restart akregator
And I think that's confusing and not what users expect. So I removed it for now, until we find a way to do it cleanly.

look like this is still valid so why is int marked as resolved/fixed?. Also "Use Konqueror settings" is better than nothing so why not implementing it for now?.
Comment 12 Frank Osterfeld 2005-02-07 10:23:19 UTC
There are font settings now, which are applied to the article viewer and the browser tabs. First it didn't work in Kontact as expected, but that should be solved now. A known problem is that font settings are not immediately applied to opened browser tabs when using the kontact plugin. Apart from that, things should work. Open a new report if it doesn't work as expected.
