Description Volker Lukas 2004-07-05 14:46:04 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: 3.3.4
OS: Linux

On very few websites images are not rendered correctly. Instead of the image some other screen content is shown in its place. What is shown can be for example a mixture of parts of the desktop, images which were on some other, unrelated website, or monotone-colored areas. I can only remember of sites with Jpeg images where this happens, not PNG for example.

On the vast majority of sites this does not happen, the only example I can give at the moment where the problem is reproducible is this URL:
http://scr3.golem.de/?d=0407/obscure&a=32135&s=1

Note that even on the same site, with another image gallery there, the problem does not happen. For example this URL renders correctly:
http://scr3.golem.de/?d=0407/pes4&a=32132&s=1

The version of Qt is a self compiled 3.3.2 (with gcc 3.3.2 or 3.3.3).
The version of libjpeg is 6.2.0, I tested the packages of Suse 9.0 and 9.1.
XFree version is 4.3.0.1, which are the the packages of Suse 9.0.

The image is corrupted (premature end). Other browsers kind of handle it, but Qt's loading routines detect corruption and say loading has failed.

hmmm, the page mentioned in this page renders fine for me. However, the image mentioned in 100496 does seem to render badly
Comment 8 Marc Schütz 2005-04-20 14:04:44 UTC
I can confirm that the images #1,3,4,5 in http://scr3.golem.de/?d=0407/obscure&a=32135&s=1 do are not shown. I'm using KDE 3.3.2 (SuSE RPMs) on SuSE 9.2.
Comment 9 Marc Schütz 2005-04-21 14:27:31 UTC
I also have some images here that don't show when I click on them in Konqueror (only darkgray background); the preview however works for most of these, but not for all.

Indeed the images on golem.de do not work inside the html page. Right clicking and explicitly viewing seems to work fine however.

Testcase works on trunk r794020.
Comment 13 Michael Leupold 2008-04-09 13:27:26 UTC
Not working in 3.5.9
Comment 14 Michael Leupold 2008-04-21 10:31:05 UTC
As this bug is fixed in recent releases it's being closed. Setting it to LATER because it does qualify for backporting to the 3.x branch.
