Description John Belmonte 2004-07-01 15:24:48 UTC
Version: 1.0-beta4 (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Considering the fact that many RSS feeds use short descriptions for each article, and in any case it helps to see part of the description for all articles at once instead of having to click on each separately, I suggest the following changes to akregator:

1) make fields in the heading panel customizable

2) rename "Article" field to "Title"

3) add optional "Description" field. This maps to description in the RSS feed. If it's too long for the field width, truncate it with "...". Do not honor links or other HTML markup when displaying the value.

4) allow for hiding of the article view panel. This is for users who think that the description field is sufficient.

4) is possible already (just drag the slider down to the bottom).

Everything else sounds reasonable.
