Version: 3.3 Bleeding Edge 2 (using KDE 3.2.3, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r6, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-gentoo-r1 It is not possible to set the cursor by a mouseclick to a new ListItem in a unordered list in the VPL. Also it is not possible to add a new unordered list in the VPL. It is only possible if the cursor is located in the source editor. The next problem is that the program crashs when I try to add an unordered list into an unordered list from the VPL. Additional the cursor will positioned behind the unordered list when a new list item is added and not behind the new list item.
It is not possible to set the cursor by a mouseclick to a new ListItem in a unordered list in the VPL. => This is indeed a bug. Also it is not possible to add a new unordered list in the VPL. It is only possible if the cursor is located in the source editor. => You sure? It is fine here :) Can you bring a testcase please? The next problem is that the program crashs when I try to add an unordered list into an unordered list from the VPL. => Same thing here. A testcase? ;-) Additional the cursor will positioned behind the unordered list when a new list item is added and not behind the new list item. => This is also a bug.
The issues should be fixed in KDE CVS. Fixing those bugs in KDE 3.2 would essentially mean to backport Caret Mode II, which is too risky for a stable branch. Well, clicking on empty listitems is still not fixed. The wrong placement after the list should be fixed on the kafka side.

I'm trying to repeat the error on my pc, but it seems only happen on another slower pc. There I have a pentium II with 350 MHz and the programs works slowly. Often I get the error there. I tested on my faster pc and you are right all works correctly. I have no idea where the error can be. > The next problem is that the program crashs when I try to add an unordered > list into an unordered list from the VPL. > > => Same thing here. Closing the bug then.
Reopen bug and reasign to KHTML as one cannot set the cursor in an empty list item. I will fix wrong cursor position after a listitem is created.
What's the actual problem? Can't the caret be placed with the mouse (never worked), or can't it be placed with the keyboard? If it's the latter, it's a real bug that needs fixing.
Created attachment 24233 [details] testcase Contains an unordered list with empty listitems.
Confirmed on trunk r794020 - assuming c5 refers to empty listitems in an unordered list.
Message from the Bugsquad and Konqueror teams: This bug is closed as outdated, as we do not have the manpower to maintain the KDE3 version anymore. If you still can reproduce this issue with Konqueror 4.8.4 or later, please open a new report. Thank you for your understanding.
