Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.2) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc 3.3.0 OS: Linux Konqueror has problems with copying & pasting special (RTL - e.g. Arabic) strings. E.g., on this page: http://forums.ort.org.il/scripts/addform.asp?which_forum=30 simply copy (or just mark) some of the text, and then paste it (either ctrl+v, or middle-mouse-click) in one of the forms on the page. The strings come out RTL, but they are reversed. Since I don't know much about the different types of encodings, and don't speak/read Arabic myself, I can't comment much more on it. I just read about this bug of mozilla with special characters, and noticed that konqueror has problems there, too: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=197375 There are also more examples there.
I just installed kde 3.4 beta1 these days (from gentoo packages), and this problem still exists in exactly the same way.
kde 3.4_beta2 (3.3.92) This bug is still there... Aren't there any Arabic people using konqueror? Or is this a qt problem?
Still present in kde 3.4 rc1.
Still present in konqueror 3.5.1
confirming for 3.5.4
Message from the Bugsquad and Konqueror teams: This bug is closed as outdated, as we do not have the manpower to maintain the KDE3 version anymore. If you still can reproduce this issue with Konqueror 4.8.4 or later, please open a new report. Thank you for your understanding.
