Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs It would be great if you could choose a "Send with Bluetooth" entry, when you right click on an entry within the KDE addressbook. For now, you have first to export as vCard, and then you can send this vCard with kbtobexclient or any bluetooth commandline tool. This option could also be added to the Export... dialog for sending multiple entries.
I just made a desktop-icon with this content, I can drag addressees from the addressbook onto it and they are sent via bluetooth [Desktop Entry] Comment=send Comment[de]=send Encoding=UTF-8 Exec=kbtobexclient %f GenericName=send via Bluetooth Icon=exec MimeType=text/x-vcalendar;text/x-vcard Name=Send via Bluetooth Path= StartupNotify=true Terminal=false TerminalOptions= Type=Application X-DCOP-ServiceType= X-KDE-SubstituteUID=false X-KDE-Username=
This would be a very useful feature, will almost every phone on the market today being both bluetooth-enabled and vcard-compliant.
The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4. Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
*** Bug 199988 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I am moving this to the new KAddressBook Product as the OP's feature request is still valid. Thanks Tobias and team!
