Version: 3.2.2 (using KDE 3.2.2, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 20031218 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.2-r5, propolice-3.3-7) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-gentoo To reproduce: Right-click a file in Konqueror and select 'Rename', or select it and press the assigned key binding (default: F2). It does not seem to matter what view (icon, tree, etc.) is activated. Expected result: The whole filename is selected, ready for inline editing. The text cursor is positioned at the end of the filename. Actual result: The whole filename is selected, ready for inline editing. The text cursor is positioned at the _beginning_ of the filename. This behaviour is inconsistent with other applications, and AFAIR only exists in KDE 3.2.2. Earlier KDE versions did not have this problem.
BRANCH between 3.2.0 and 3.2.1 has it too
KDE 3.3.0 has this bug as well.
confirming for: 3.3.1 and 3.3.2
This is fixed, update to 3.4.x
I am using KDE 3.4.2. The bug appears to only partially fixed, resulting in even more inconsistent behaviour. On files/directories that do not have extensions, the cursor is placed at the beginning. For files/directories that do have extensions, the cursor is placed just before the final full stop.
Well, you are right. I'll reopen this.
I'm using 4.0 branch r802754. In both konq and dolphin: how.to.do.docs ^ goes to there test.jpg ^ goes to there Otherwise goes to the back. So I suspect this can be closed.
Apparently there was no secret reason this was left open, so closing.
