Version: 3.2.0 (using KDE 3.2 BRANCH >= 20040204, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 (Mandrake Linux 10.0 3.3.2-6mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.3-4mdksmp sometimes ( I cannot reproduce it all the time, but it has not to do with how much is the uptime... it may happen in 1min from boot or 2 days after) konqueror freezes in the procedure of autocompletion. I start to write www.k for example ... it gives me some addresses in the drop down list .. and then a freeze. the only thing that keeps going is the mouse pointer. all of my desktop freezes and I have to go CTRL+ALT+Backspace to drop the XSession to unfreeze.. This behavious happened 2-3 times in a period of half a month with Mandrake Community 10.0 ... but in the same pc it was happening ALL the time with 10RC1.
I upgraded to official 10.0. The same thing happens ... maybe more often... The cpu usage is low ... keyboard doesn't send key presses... numlock is working fine (on-offs).. all the applications on the desktop and kicker bar run fine, and update fine BUT I cannot do anything with mouse / or keyboard. The only application that doesn't update is konqueror-webbrowser. The thing is that if I Ctrl+Alt+F2, login as a user and kill the 3-4 processes of konqueror then I I go back to Ctrl+Alt+F7 after a few seconds the keyboard wakes up and the system runs fine... except that after the first event I can reproduce the freeze every time I run konqueror browser. The same behaviour doesn't happen with konqueror file manager profile. The same behaviour doesn't happen with other browsers (like mozilla). I have tested the same thing on 2.6.3-4 2.6.3-7 and 2.4 kernels.
I am using Konq 3.5.5 (64-bit) on Kubuntu 6.06, and am seeing what appears to be the same bug. Twice in the last month, my entire desktop has frozen when I perform the following actions: 1. Start Konq 2. Enter "/tmp<return>" in the address bar Then the freeze occurs. 1. The mouse still moves; 2. Mouse clicks are ignored. 3. Desktop updates continue (so maybe "freeze" isn't the right word -- really it's just that all mouse clicks and keyboard input are ignored). 4. All other apps seem to continue functioning. To get out of this state, I have been dropping to a console with alt-ctrl-F1, then logging in and rebooting.
I've been unable to reproduce this in version 3.5.9 or 4.0.3
Never seen the problem (3.5.9 and trunk (r807429)). If it still occurs, please reopen.
