Version: 3.2.0 (using KDE KDE 3.2.0) Installed from: Slackware Packages Compiler: gcc version 3.2.3 OS: Linux When renaming a file the following behaviour occurs every time: - right clicking the file and selecting rename works with no strange behaviours - hitting F2 and pressing the AltGr button (on the italian keyboard this is needed to type the square parenthesis []) makes the focus go on the location bar and you find yourself typing in the location bar as to enter a foldername instead of changing the file name as said, this occurs always, following this exploit hth fede
Yeah, quite annoying behaviour.
To add some more weirdness - for me the problem sometimes occurs, sometimes it doesn't. When it occurs, it's really annoying.
Note that #89119 is a duplicate of this bug, but claims to be solved. Which it isn't for me. I am using the German keyboard layout and have the very same problem. It seems to only apply to the list views, not to the icon views, and it seems to only happen when the arrow keys have been used to select the file to be renamed. How to reproduce: open Konqueror file view window, change to detailed list view, select a file with the arrow keys, press F2, then AltGr - rename is cancelled. However: open Konqueror file view window, change to detailed list view, select a file with the mouse, press F2, then AltGr - rename works.
BTW, I am using Fedora Core 4 with KDE 3.5.2 and Fedora Core 5 with KDE 3.5.3.
I can reproduce this now. r548000.
I added this comment to the other bug report (#89119), but since that one is closed, I am adding it here as well: I see this bug with KDE3.5.4 and Debian Sid. Often, when I press and hold AltGr while with F2), this acts just as ESC would, cancelling the rename. But invariably, the second time I try to rename, it works correctly. Best regards, Torquil M. Sørensen
I can not reproduce with KDE-3.5.5 (german keyboard). Does it depend on the view type of a directory ?
Still there. $konqueror --version Qt: 3.3.7 KDE: 3.5.5 Konqueror: 3.5.5
Still here. I am using "Text view" mode. Comment #6 is also from me. But now it no longer works on the second try. It works sometimes after many tries. $ konqueror --version Qt: 3.3.7 KDE: 3.5.7 Konqueror: 3.5.7
Cannot reproduce on 3.5.9 AND 4.1 (trunk r802881).
Same here, it seems to work now for me on KDE3.5.9. I tried with locales nb_NO.UTF-8 and en_GB.UTF-8.
Ok, thanks Torquil for confirmation. Bug closed.
