Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package If some part of a page is wider than the viewport (you can see a horizontal scollbar), than doing a find text in that window will cause the screen to scroll to the right each time it finds some text, even where there is no information there. IMO the window should always display as far left as possible, while still showing the selected text.
Created attachment 5199 [details] test case The test case contains five paragraphs of lorem ipsum, where the fourth paragraph (highlighted red) has a width greater than the viewport (1600px). Doing a find text on the page causes the screen to scroll right, even for paragraphs where the text fits completely within the viewport.
This annoys me, too... After every found text you have to scroll back to read the context...
very good testcase shows the issue for 3.4.0
Still issue with kde4. While it doesn't scroll to the right unnecessarily, it doesn't scroll back to the left to display more finds.
Can't confirm on 3.5.9 and trunk r795901. For me it doesn't scroll to the right if not needed and scrolls back if needed.
