Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0) Installed from: RedHat RPMs Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.2.2 20030222 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5) I used an unofficial Redhat RPM binary to install OS: Linux One can use Shift+F1 to get the "What's This?" help mouse. Then one can click on any item you want to get additional help. When going through any of Konqueror's configuration windows, this works fine until clicking on a text box (or selecting items in a dropdown box, etc). Basically anywhere one can enter text. Thus the cursor is in the text box. Then when one presses Shift+F1, the tooltip automatically comes up for that text box and so the user does not have the option to choose that box, another box, or another option like a radio button. The only way one can get the tooltip for another part after a textbox has been selected is to: a) right click the item and hit "What's This" b) close that section or window to remove the cursor from the text box, and reopen it. Expected Behaviour: Mouse cursor turns into the "What's This?" pointer and the next item you click on (whether it be the text box your keyboard cursor is in, or any other section) will pop up with it's respective tooltip. How to Reproduce: Open up any window available directly from Konqueror (eg. Settings -> Configure Konqueror, Tools -> Run Command (advanced options)) Click on a text box, or choose an option from a dropdown box, then press Shift+F1. I have determined that this is a konqueror problem because I cannot reproduce this problem in any other KDE application (eg. Kcontrol/Control Centre). Oddly enough, this does not occur on webpages, nor with the location bar.
This is not restricted to konqueror. It seems to randomly happen in some widgets (checkboxes, lineedits etc...) and not in others. Need to determine what all the places where this happens have in common...
Confirmed in both 3.5.9 AND 4.1 (trunk r802881)
SHIF+F1 Works fine with KDE 4.4.5
