Description Jose Hernandez 2004-01-14 04:32:30 UTC
Version: 3.1.94 (using KDE 3.1.94 (CVS >= 20031206), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.3 20030422 (Gentoo Linux 1.4 3.2.3-r3, propolice)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.0-gentoo

No matter what I do, I can not seem to get konqueror to save the application preference order for 'x-ms-wmv' to 1.Kmplayer 2.mplayer unless I delete mplayer. Otherwise, the order is reverted to 1) mplayer 2) KMPlayer after Configure dialog is closed.

There is definatelly something wrong with file associations in kde.
There are a lot of unresolved bugs around this subject - maybe these should be closed so we can continue with one??

I've got the same problem as the parent, I want avi and mpg files to be opened by xine, but he keeps using mplayer. The only solution is to delete every program from that mime type's list, except xine. Other video files do not have this problem, only avi and mpg.

I'm sure this is just one example, going through the other bug reports, it happens with html, pdf,...

Also it only appeared maximum 2 weeks ago, worked fine before that.

I'm using kde 3.2.1

i've only been able to reproduce with the avi file type.

Comment 4 Linus Östberg 2008-05-14 00:32:09 UTC
Worked fine in 3.5.9 and trunk (r807429).
