Description Mohd Asif Ali Rizwaan 2003-12-19 21:46:54 UTC
Version: 3.1.4 (using KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 (Mandrake Linux 9.2 3.3.1-2mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.22-10mdk

How to Reproduce:
1. Open kwrite or an editor
2. create a file $HOME/hello.txt and add some text in it (so that you can preview it, with embedded viewer)
3. Clear Recent Document History (K->Recent Documents->Clear History)
4. Open Konqueror
5. RMB (rightclick) on "hello.txt" file and choose "Preview in" -> "Embedded advanced text editor"
6. After seeing the preview close konqueror

7. Now GOTO K->Recent Documents and you can see NOTHING :(

Like the text file (as mentioned above), PDF and sound files like OGG, MP3, when opened with embedded viewer is not getting updated at the "Recent Documents"

This is very annoying, since most of the Pictures, PDF files, and text files are opened with Embedded viewer. And not having those recently used files in "Recent Document History" is very troublesome.

Confirmed with KDE 3.4 alpha, although whether the behavior is a bug is debatable, after all, you didn't "open" it, you "previewed" it. Somebody else will have to decide about that though. :)

Yes. Previewing != Opening and hence no entry in the "Recent Documents" list.
